Privacy Policy – Statsy

Effective date: November 26, 2025

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how the mobile application Statsy (the “App”) handles your data. Statsy is a running statistics and personal records app that reads certain data from Apple Health / HealthKit to display and analyze your running workouts.

The App is provided by Babui Marcel Garbarczyk (“we”, “us”, or “our”), operating as an independent developer.

Statsy is designed with privacy in mind. The App does not create any user accounts, does not collect personally identifiable information, and does not send your Health data to our servers or to third parties. All Health data used by the App stays on your device.

3. No Account, No Direct Identification

Statsy does not require you to create an account, log in, or provide any personal details such as your name, email address, phone number, or postal address in order to use the App.

We do not have access to information that can directly identify you. Any data used by the App is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to us, except for standard anonymous diagnostics and usage information collected by Apple and App Store infrastructure (see Section 7).

4. Health Data and Apple Health / HealthKit

4.1. HealthKit Permission

Statsy uses Apple Health / HealthKit to read your running workout data so that it can display and analyze your runs. Access to Health data is strictly controlled by iOS. The App can only read the Health data types that you explicitly grant permission for in the Health app.

You can change these permissions at any time in: Settings > Health > Data Access & Devices.

4.2. Health Data Types Used

Depending on what is available on your device and what you choose to allow, Statsy may read the following Health / HealthKit data types for the purpose of displaying and analyzing your running workouts:

  • Workouts:
    • Running workouts (type: HKWorkout, workout type: running)
    • Workout start and end time
    • Workout duration
    • Total workout distance (e.g. meters or kilometers)
    • Workout energy expenditure / active calories (where available)
    • Source application of the workout (e.g. Apple Watch Workout app)
    • Workout metadata such as elevation gain/loss, weather conditions (if present in the workout)
  • Heart-related metrics (where available and permitted):
    • Heart rate
    • Resting heart rate (optional)
    • Heart rate variability (SDNN) (optional)
  • Distance and speed metrics:
    • Distance walking/running
    • Running speed (optional, where supported)
    • Running power (optional, where supported)
    • Running cadence (optional, where supported)
    • Running stride length (optional, where supported)
  • Energy and performance metrics (optional, where supported):
    • Active energy burned
    • Basal energy burned
    • VO2 max
  • Workout environment metadata (where present in the workout):
    • Elevation ascended and descended
    • Weather temperature and humidity
    • Weather condition description provided by the source app
    • Indoor vs outdoor workout flag

4.3. No Location Tracking or Routes by Us

Statsy does not request or access your GPS location directly. The App does not read or store detailed workout route data (such as GPS traces) from HealthKit. It focuses on aggregate workout and performance metrics such as distance, duration, pace, heart rate, and related statistics.

4.4. Purpose of Using Health Data

All Health data read from HealthKit is used exclusively for the following purposes:

  • Displaying lists of your running workouts.
  • Showing statistics such as total distance, total time, and average pace.
  • Calculating and displaying your personal records for different distances (e.g. 1 km, 5 km, 10 km, half-marathon, marathon, etc.).
  • Analyzing workout splits and performance metrics (e.g. pace, heart rate, cadence) on your device.

We do not use your Health data for advertising, profiling, or any other purpose beyond presenting and analyzing your own workouts.

4.5. On-Device Processing Only

All Health data used by Statsy is processed locally on your device. The App does not upload Health data to our servers or to third parties. We do not have access to your individual Health records.

5. Data Storage and Retention

5.1. Local Storage Only

Statsy stores the results of its calculations (such as personal records and workout summaries) locally on your device using Apple’s storage technologies (for example, SwiftData). These data are derived from your HealthKit workouts and are used only to improve the speed and quality of the App’s views and statistics.

The App does not use its own servers or any third-party cloud service for storing your data. There is no custom remote synchronization implemented by the developer.

5.2. No Custom Cloud Sync

Statsy does not implement any custom synchronization of your data via iCloud or other cloud providers. Any backup or device-to-device transfer of App data that may occur is handled solely by Apple’s own system-level mechanisms (such as iCloud backups), according to your device settings.

5.3. Data Retention and Deletion

Because all data used by Statsy is stored on your device:

  • Data remains on your device for as long as you keep the App installed (and for as long as the corresponding data stays in Apple Health).
  • When you uninstall the App, locally stored app data (including derived statistics and cached records) is deleted by the operating system.
  • If you delete or modify workouts in Apple Health, Statsy will update or remove corresponding entries in its local storage during the next synchronization.

We do not retain copies of your data on our servers, as we do not operate servers for this App.

6. Data Sharing and Third Parties

6.1. No Sale or Sharing of Health Data

We do not sell, rent, or share your Health data or any app-derived metrics with third parties. Because all Health data processing occurs on your device and is not transmitted to us, we do not have access to this information in a form that would allow us to share it.

6.2. No Third-Party SDKs or Ads

Statsy does not include third-party advertising SDKs or in-app advertising networks. The App does not integrate third-party analytics SDKs (such as Firebase Analytics, Google Analytics, or similar), and does not use third-party crash reporting tools.

6.3. No Export to Other Services

Statsy does not export your Health data to other apps or online services. Any sharing of data that you may perform is done manually by you (for example, sharing screenshots), and is outside of the control of the App.

7. System-Level Diagnostics and App Store Telemetry

Like all iOS apps, Statsy may be subject to anonymous, aggregated diagnostics and usage information collected by Apple and its App Store infrastructure. This can include crash logs, basic usage patterns, and other technical telemetry that helps Apple improve the platform and provide developers with high-level analytics.

This system-level data collection is controlled by Apple and your device settings (for example, the “Share iPhone & Watch Analytics” option). We, as the developer, do not control this process and do not receive data that identifies you personally. Any access we have to such analytics is provided in aggregated or anonymized form through Apple’s developer tools.

8. Children’s Privacy

Statsy is designed for the general public and is not specifically directed at children under the age of 13. The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children and does not create user accounts.

Parents or guardians who believe that a child has provided personal information through any external contact channel associated with the App can contact us using the email address in Section 2 so that we can address the situation.

9. Data Protection and Security

Because Statsy processes Health data exclusively on your device, the primary protections for your data are provided by Apple’s operating system and hardware security features (such as device encryption, passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID).

We do not maintain separate online databases for Statsy, and we do not transmit your Health data to remote servers. Nevertheless, we recommend that you:

  • Use a strong device passcode and keep your device’s operating system up to date.
  • Review which apps have access to your Health data in the Health app’s privacy settings.

10. Your Rights and Control

Because your data is stored and processed locally on your device, you have direct control over it through the Health app and system settings. In particular, you can:

  • Revoke or change Statsy’s access to Health data at any time in the Health app.
  • Delete individual workouts or Health records from the Health app.
  • Uninstall Statsy, which removes the App and its locally stored data from your device.

If you contact us directly and share any personal information (for example, via email support), we will use that information only to respond to your inquiry and will delete it when it is no longer needed for that purpose, unless we are required by law to keep it longer.

11. Legal Basis and Jurisdiction

The developer is based in Poland. Statsy is designed so that we, as the developer, do not receive or store your Health data or other personal data on our own systems. Health data remains on your device and under your control.

To the extent that data protection regulations such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) apply, our goal is to minimize data processing and avoid collecting personal data wherever possible. If you contact us and provide personal information, it will be processed only for the purpose of answering your request and in accordance with applicable law.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes in the App’s functionality, HealthKit capabilities, or applicable law. When we make changes, we will update the “Effective date” at the top of this document. The updated version will be made available via the same link used in the App Store listing.

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how Statsy handles data.
